    Suitable for ultras??

    I like this backpack as it’s large enough to comfortably fit everything in.

    But I’m not sure I would use it again for any race longer than 20miles. The lack of a better fastening around the chest and waist means the contents bounce on the back. And after 40 miles my kidneys felt like they had been in a bout with Mike Tyson! For longer races I’d look to use a more back hugging and tight pack.

    Before anyone asks, I know how to pack, I was only carrying 2/3KGs of kit. It’s not my first rodeo etc etc. The system needs a better way to make it less of a sack and more of an extension of the runners body.

    Having said that. I love the pouches and the actual consideration and design of the pockets for the runner. Everything can be easily accessed from gels to poles. And so it’s a fantastic pack from that perspective. Just needs some tweaks on the harness and body hugging perspective.

    Gecko VP pack

    Its a great size with fluid access easily available, flexible elasticated pockets to get those little extras in. Good size for middle distance ultra runs.
