Lightweight and warm, the Insulated Mountain Cap is constructed from recycled PERTEX® QUANTUM ECO and insulated with recycled PrimaLoft Silver. With a soft peak, pre-elasticated fit and optional chin strap, this cap is fully featured whilst also being light and small enough to stuff into a tiny pack size.

    Warm and lightweight

    Warm and lightweight with a comfortable fit.

    The chin strap is annoying. At first I thought I’d accidentally cut it off when cutting off the tags, but no, it comes separately and you have to tie each end to the small loops on the ear flaps, which is fiddly, and it’s not really removable - you either tie it on or decide not to have it at all.

    Good for cold weather

    Bought for low level activity (largely standing about up ridiculously cold and windy hills and fields) in the NE of Scotland’s seemingly endless winter. Works quite well and ear flaps sit well, although better if the supplied chin strap is fastened. With no fleece face to the insides of the ear flaps, there’s quite a noticeable rustling noise on the move. Packs up small enough to fit in a jacket pocket. Haven’t tried shoving it into its own built-in pocket though. Peak is easy to flick up out of the way and back down again, which is handy when going up hill or using a camera with a viewfinder.
