Production Coordinator

About the Role:
We are looking to recruit a Production Coordinator to join our Supply Chain Team. This is a new role that we are introducing to the business. This role reports to the Head of Production and Sourcing and will work closely with the Product Development, Design, Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure we fulfil our customer requirements. Montane is a Fair Wear Foundation member, the Production Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with our factories to manage ethical, on time and in full production. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in production and sourcing in a similar business and will have experience of working with overseas factories. They will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and able to work at a fast pace to multiple deadlines.

The Production Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Planning production timelines, gathering seasonal lead-time information from fabric mills and finished goods suppliers to feed in to the planning of the buying timetable.
  • Ensuring all production complies with the Fair Wear Foundation ethical standards.
  • Placing and monitoring bulk fabric forecasts with raw materials suppliers.
  • Sending out purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner and ensuring the PO’s are updated where appropriate during the purchase order follow up.
  • Responding quickly and accurately to queries relating to production and material ordering, taking into account MOQ issues and left over fabrics.
  • Checking all supplier material orders against the instructions provided to ensure that they have been followed accurately.
  • Requesting copies of all fabric orders and checking that the confirmed delivery dates meet or are better than the stated lead-time.
  • Ensuring that any production and/or material surcharges are signed off, recorded and reconciled.
  • Monitor critical path process to ensure that all production related processes are completed on time.
  • Requesting bi-weekly production status reports from all suppliers.
  • Investigating and solving any production issues and delays.
  • Providing all relevant departments with a summary production status report and commentary.
  • Holding regular production follow up meetings with suppliers via Zoom/Teams etc.
  • Managing leftover fabrics information, reporting and communicating to relevant teams across the business.
  • Managing production of SMU orders.
  • Keeping the buying manual up to date.
  • Recording the seasonal supplier MOQ and surcharge structure.
  • Updating the Supplier Purchasing Agreement every season and issuing it out to suppliers.

Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Experience working in production and sourcing in apparel manufacturing businesses.
  • Good understanding of product development, production, and sourcing processes.
  • Experience of implementing effective sourcing and production processes.
  • Experience of working with factories and suppliers in the Far East.
  • Strong professional skills in communication, attention to detail, organisation, deadline management.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office competency including MS Excel.
  • Previous experience of Centric desirable but not essential.
