My last insulated jacket was montane which I had for about 8 years wore it almost every week brilliant jacket but its had its day now. So naturally my next insulated jacket had to be montane.
This jacket is awsome, im usually a large in most things but went xl with this an it fits perfect. Recently wore it in Scotland in typical scottish conditions snow wind and a white out and I loved it, really warm but also breathable regulates temp well but also warm when just standing around.
Love the toggle feature for the hood, first time I've sen that works well and the deep pockets going up the chest are really good when you have a hardness on so great feature.
Montane have this down as non helmet compatible but worked pretty when I was wearing one, had this over 90% of my helmet with googles no problems at all.
I was sceptical of the elastic cuffs but now I really like them, gives a good fit and works well with gloves. Rain and snow beads up nicely on the outer aswel great tech,
Only downside for me is the stupid stuff sack in the pocket, this would be the only thing I would change the rest of it is brilliant. It's like a pocket full of dog poo bags rustling around in there, just gets in the way when you have got something in your pocket, are you going to pull out a glove or the stuff sack bag or both then maybe lose the glove while faffing with the bag. Just get rid of it, I untied mine an binned it after a few times wearing it. It gets folded up and put in a dry bag anyway.…
