#TeamMontane Christmas Gear Guide

We asked the #TeamMontane HQ staff to share their top gift ideas this season! Your chance to get inspired for Christmas…

Who better to ask for Christmas gifting ideas than the people who know Montane products best? Here at Montane we live for exploring the great outdoors and have tried and tested our clothing and equipment on many of our own adventures.

Keep reading to see which items we wouldn’t hesitate to gift to our friends and family. Go on, ‘tis the season of giving after all…

Anti Freeze Down Slippers
Amy Spencer, Senior Designer

This Christmas my whole family will be receiving the gift of cosy warm toes! The Anti-Freeze slippers with 750+ fill power HyperDRY down keep my feet lovely and warm whether in the house or out on a bothy hut adventure. They pack down to a super small size into their own stuff sack and have a reinforced sole so you can quickly pop out and grab a little more firewood without worrying about tearing them. They are the first thing I reach for when getting home after a long bike ride or walk through the woods as I know they’ll thaw my feet out in no time!

Terra Pants
Simon Downie, Sales Support Executive

When packing for an adventure no matter how big or small the first thing I grab is my trusty Terra Pants.  I’ve had my Terra Pants for 10+ years and will be wearing them for many more. They've taken me from hiking in the Lake District to climbing volcanoes in the Philippines and everywhere in between! They are comfortable, fast drying, breathable, lightweight, durable, and perfect for year-round use in an array of activities, a true multi-purpose powerhouse! The Terra Pants are a reliable mountain staple, and make the perfect gift for any outdoor enthusiast.

Waterproof Dry Bag
James Krasucki, Equipment Designer

The Waterproof Dry Bags are essential for me on any trip - whether I’m hiking, fastpacking, or bikepacking. I have two of the 6L Dry Bags and use one for my sleeping bag (it’s lighter than a compression sack and has the bonus of being waterproof) and one for my emergency clothing. I have even used this as a pillow when filled with some spare clothing, by putting a Montane chief over it! I prefer this over a rain cover as it’s more reliable and has the bonus of organising your equipment for you! Overall, this is a great gift for anyone spending a decent amount of time outdoors (especially in the wet conditions of the UK), and the Montane Dry Bag is lighter than most!

Brew Beanie Hat
Stephanie Robinson, Social Media Manager

My number one accessory choice for heading out on any adventure! I always pack a beanie because even in the summer months, you never know when the weather will take a turn in the hills, so it’s important to prepare for all seasons. The Brew Beanie Hat is my go-to choice as it’s lightweight but keeps you toasty warm. Available in various lovely colours, if you’re looking for a gift for your friends or family, or even to treat yourself, you can’t go wrong with a the Brew Beanie Hat!

Ineo Lite Leggings
Megan Winter, D2C Merchandising Manager

The Ineo Lite leggings are my go-to gift for my friends and family. This style is so comfortable as the fabric has a beautiful stretch to it and with the deep stretch waistband, they’re a flattering fit which is true to size. These outdoor leggings are so versatile and can be worn for any activity, my family and I love long walks in the hills with our dogs and these are our go-to legwear, my sister in law wears them for teaching her ballet classes and I love mine for yoga due to the freedom of movement. Everyone I have gifted these to has loved them.

Sidetracked Montane Special Edition Magazine
Matt Hickman, Marketing Director

When you're not on an adventure there's nothing better than planning your next one! Sidetracked magazine has always been a firm favourite of mine and I look forward to this dropping with every issue. The special edition of Montane 30yrs Of Progress Sidetracked magazine captures our progress through the mountains with stories of personal exploration, both old and new, that immerse you in nature and portray the ever-changing world of adventure. A perfect stocking filler.

Protium XT Fleece
Ruth Lynch, Head of People and Culture

Everyone I know who has one of the Protium family of products loves them and often has them in a range of colours and densities. I don’t think you can go wrong with a protium as a gift. They are so versatile and can be worn as part of a layering system for any outdoor activity, they are really soft and comfortable and also look smart, so can be worn for everyday wear too. The Protium XT is the warmest fleece of the family so is perfect for winter. The Protium XT fleece for men and women is something that I will be getting for family members and also adding to my own Christmas list!

Dart Base Layer
Fran Wilson, Digital Marketing Manager

These warm, breathable base layers are the perfect item for all my adventure-loving family members. My brother is a big outdoor climber, whilst my dad loves to head off on long-distance walks in the hills, having recently completed Land’s End to John O’Groats! The great thing about a dart base layer is that they are highly versatile and suitable for a massive variety of activities. They are also treated with Polygeine, which keeps these base layers smelling fresher for longer. There are tons of colours and styles too, which get updated each season. I rate them for my cycling and running missions and I know my family does for their adventures.
