    Look ideal but poor (cheap?) strap material lets them down

    These looked just the ticket for running/hiking without having to resolve to full length gaiters. Tight to get on - I had the large option as well - but once on seemed perfect. First run, on mostly paved road, one strap broke and the other is frayed to the point where a single thread is all that's holding it together but l imagine won't last beyond trying to fit it again. I don't understand the logic of using poor materials for the main stress point whilst the rest of the gaiter is of a quality I would expect from Montane. Very disappointed to be leaving this review but others need to be aware of this basic failing.

    great product with one issue

    Protects the shoe and sock really well from debris, the downside is the 'attachement cord' that goes below the shoe breaks after running few days in the mountains (i tested this gaiter in TOR330 Race). I tried to change the cord to metal cord but that broke too, i think the cord should be made with thinker rubber, similar to salomon gaiter's, which in other features doesnt come even near to Montane Trail gaiter.
