Quality Control Inspector

About the Role:
We are looking to recruit a Quality Control Inspector to join our Supply Chain Team. This role will report to the Head of Production and Sourcing and will work closely with the Product Development, Design and Supply Chain teams to ensure that all products meet quality, performance and safety standards and reach our customers in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will have experience of monitoring and delivering quality requirements in an apparel production and manufacturing business. They will be passionate about quality and product compliance, have an exceptional attention to detail, be highly organised and able to work at a fast pace to multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for:
  • Implementing and maintaining inspection schedules that ensure both business and industry standards are met.
  • Liaising with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that access to stock is available to conduct the necessary inspections.
  • Assessing and approving the quality of bulk stock as it comes into the warehouse.
  • Conducting thorough inspection of sample sets for quality, durability, safety before each stage of production.
  • Identifying product handling and packaging issues and following up with the relevant sources.
  • Measuring size ranges for each product style and reporting any issues to the relevant teams.
  • Issuing reports to factories and following up when required.
  • Assessing new product TOP (Top of Production) and informing suppliers of the inspection outcome via email and report.
  • Analysing returns data, identifying any common faults and providing feedback to relevant teams.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to QC processes and product handling.
  • Sourcing and coordinating the reprocessing of any damaged stock where possible.
  • Ensuring that any non-compliance issues are recorded and escalated.
  • Notifying the Garment and Product Technologists of any changes to product specification.
  • Ensuring that suppliers receive inspection reports in a timely manner, allowing for any updates/improvements to be implemented for upcoming production runs.
  • Escalating any non-compliances and quality issues to the relevant teams, customers and suppliers.
  • Recording and tracking of all inhouse and supplier inspections for easy look-up across the company.
  • Keeping up to date with industry and product standards and compliance.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Experience working in Quality Control Inspection in apparel production and manufacturing businesses.
  • Good understanding of product development, production, and distribution processes.
  • Good knowledge of sizing and fits.
  • Strong professional skills in communication, attention to detail, organisation and deadline management.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office competency.
