About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Trade Marketing Manager to join our team. At Montane we push boundaries in performance, building timeless and versatile products that enable people to achieve their goals in the outdoors. The Global Trade Marketing Manager will report to the Global Marketing Director and will play a critical role in developing commercial marketing strategies and campaigns to drive sales growth and increase brand awareness. They will be responsible for the Trade Marketing strategy and developing effective sell in and sell out processes, campaigns and collateral. They will provide line management or our Sell Through Team and work closely with sales teams, brand marketing, digital marketing teams and external partners to ensure alignment, execution and maximum impact of commercial marketing strategies. This is a hands-on role, working in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trade marketing, commercial marketing strategies, and global markets, with a proven track record of driving successful commercial marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the identification, implementation, tracking and measurement of commercial marketing campaigns that support sales targets.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of sales targets, strategies and priorities to help shape campaigns and messaging.
  • Ensure consistency of brand and product messaging across all customers.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sell in, sell through and retail marketing strategies that are aligned with overall Brand Marketing Strategy, Business Objectives and Global Sales Targets.
  • Develop and execute tiered customer programmes and SLA’s.
  • Collaborate with Global Sales Teams and retail partners to understand market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape to ensure informed, effective and engaging coop marketing programmes and initiatives that enhance brand visibility and drive sales performance.
  • Line Management of the Global Sell Through Team, working with the Sell Through Team Manager and Sell Through Rep to drive and increase sell through by identifying and implementing effective brand and product training and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing teams to align social, email and website activity with commercial marketing campaigns and strategies.
  • Facilitate a feedback loop by consulting with commercial teams to identify campaign and asset needs.
  • Work with content creation team to create required commercial and trade marketing assets across a range of formats to support campaigns and initiatives.
  • Deliver the pre-line and sell-in decks to the commercial teams, ensuring sufficiency in content to support the commercial efforts.
  • Ensure the Elastic Suite platform is up to date and delivers the brand content for the trade audience.
  • Manage the workbook process to design and deliver the seasonal workbook for print and upload to elastic suite.
  • Manage the showroom execution, formulating how the brand is presented to the trade and the seasonal visual execution. Using the Staveley showroom space as the global style setting.
  • Identify and coordinate participation in trade shows, exhibitions, webinars and industry events to showcase products and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Manage trade events, setting the style and arranging necessary logistics and resources and any support required.
  • Deliver the seasonal sales launch to our internal teams and global partners.
  • Identify and manage production of promotional materials, POS displays, and sales collateral to support product launches, promotions, and trade shows.
  • Analyse market trends, consumer insights, and sales data to identify opportunities for growth and optimisation of trade marketing activities.
  • Deliver regular reports of campaign results ROI and evaluation of KPIs.
  • Collate and utilise data to inform new campaigns and the evaluation of existing campaigns.
  • Manage commercial and trade marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and best practices in trade marketing to maintain a competitive edge.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing trade marketing, commercial marketing, or a related field in product led wholesale businesses, with a focus on both UK and international markets.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial and trade marketing strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with marketing platforms and analytical tools.
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving targets and driving business growth.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
