Warehouse Stock Controller

About the Role

The Stock Controller will work in our busy warehouse as part of the ‘Goods In’ team. They will report to the ‘Goods In’ Supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring that stock is replenished and available for customer orders to be picked and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with responsibility for stock control. They will work well in a team and have a positive attitude towards work, they will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and able to work at a fast pace to multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

The Stock Controller will work in the Goods In team and will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained at all times.
  • Carrying out regular stock takes and inventory counts, including preparation, completion and investigating any variances.
  • Maintaining paperwork and records in the inventory management system.
  • Identifying, investigating and communicating any stock issues immediately to the relevant teams.
  • Auditing and recording stock movements and changes.
  • Working with the ‘Goods In’ Supervisor to forecast Stock Control workload and plan resources needed.
  • Ensuring accurate receipt and recording of goods.
  • Reconciling shipments and reporting any errors to the relevant teams and recording on the relevant systems.
  • Actioning warehouse-to-warehouse transfers.
  • Supporting warehouse managers and shift supervisors to ensure targets are being met and supporting with ‘Goods In’ duties when required.
  • Being a role model and performing duties to a high standard.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety and operational procedures are followed and reporting any actions to management.
  • Ensure and conduct safe operation of inhouse machinery.
  • Proposing new ideas and improvements to the warehouse management team.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in warehouse stock control at a similar level of responsibility.
  • Experience of working in apparel or other fast-moving consumer goods businesses.
  • Strong IT skills with high level Microsoft Excel (Essential).
  • Sage 200/other inventory management software experience (desirable).
  • High standards and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good time management and organisation skills with the ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
  • A positive attitude.
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to foresee problems and overcome them confidently and effectively.
  • An ability to work independently and develop processes, reports, and procedures.
  • A flexible and approachable personality with a positive attitude.
  • Good team working skills.
  • A relevant professional qualification in warehousing (desirable).
  • An interest in outdoor activity (desirable).

Location: Ashington, Northumberland.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
Contract: Full Time , Permanent Role.

Shift: Monday – Thursday 1.30pm – 9.30pm, Friday 11am – 7pm (the applicants must be able to work these hours)
