The Montane Trailblazer® 25L Backpack has been built for durability with a reinforced base, and lightweight features to stabilise the load, even when you’re moving fast. This backpack has been built with recycled materials including the RAPTOR CROSS LITE 70D Nylon outer, which has been coated with a PFC-DWR to keep your equipment dry. Mapped to your body and combining performance with comfort, the Trailblazer® 25L has a 3d-moulded foam back panel, COVALENT harness and compression adjustments to secure your essentials.

The new Montane T-Hook system allows you to reconfigure the external storage and optimise it for your current adventure. Other easy-to-access storage options include pockets with locking zips. The RAPTOR CROSS LITE 70D Nylon outer fabric is 100% recycled and features durable Ripstop. It keeps your equipment dry by using a UTS Polyurethane Composite coating in combination with a PFC-Free DWR coating. The fabric strikes an ideal balance between abrasion resistance and being lightweight enough for fast and light missions.

MONTANE T-HOOK. Modular Adaptable Design.

The Montane T-Hook system is a custom design that allows fixing points to be relocated on the pack, and is now seen across the Trailblazer range. The T-Hooks are secured through laser-cut holes to either side of the front panel and have been tested in the mountains to provide maximum adaptability with the minimum weight.

Mixed bag
Good light weight rucksack let down by a few issues. The back panel in rather firm and becomes a bit uncomfortable on a longer walk. Also I tend to get sweaty. The inside lid pocket zip is short and makes it difficult to get items in or out. The one feature that I really like are the pockets in the straps. The wand pockets ar OK, but if used you have to be careful to make sure they are completely zipped up, otherwise thing could fall out.

Brilliant companion for hiking
I own a 45L trailblazer backpack, but wanted something a bit smaller for day hikes. The 25L backpack is great, there is plenty of storage compartments and the main compartment is roomy. My wife uses another backpack brand but the Trailblazer is far superior in material, build quality and comfort and with the different storage compartments away from the main one, all of my main gear is easily accessible.

A downgrade over the previous model in almost every way
I do not like this backpack. The previous version was awesome. The new one does not have proper gear loops for transporting an axe. I actually don’t even understand how the gear loops are to be used. There isn’t a hook on them to wrap around an axe and attach to the bag. The loop is just a loop of elastic cord with a cincher on it. Am I supposed to just stick my axe through the loops and tighten them? I actually tried to do this with my axe and it is too long to be able to get it through both loops without taking one off, which is not very quickly possible. Also, if the gear loops are to be used for an axe, the bottom-most place for attaching the loops still isn’t low enough if you have a longer axe. That is super disappointing. The old version held an axe perfectly and it was easy to put it on and take it off the pack. The back system on the new pack makes it so there isn’t a separate compartment for the bladder like there was on the old Trailblazer, which I really liked. Also, when adjusting the back system to a medium-large setting, it leaves a huge swath of exposed Velcro against your back, making fleece garments catch and pull on the Velcro. The old trailblazer had just enough structure to be comfortable, while still being packable in a larger bag to take on multi-day expeditions. This new one has a big bulky back to it which makes it heavier and less packable. There is also not a good way to attach a helmet to the outside without adding more straps, which will make…
