    Ok but not great

    The material is very thin. It is great on partly sunny days but let too much sun through on a very sunny day in Scotland. Bit of a sore head! Not sure I’d use it anywhere that gets very strong sunshine.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thank you for your review and feedback. We understand that you felt like too much sun got through the Trail Lite Cap on a sunny day, there could be a number of factors at play here. The cap itself is made from a fabric that provides decent UPF protection, however the fabric will not perform as well in this regard when stretched or when wet for example. Also the ventilation holes on the cap will offer reduced protection against the sun. To be verified as being sun protective the hat must either be a legionnaire style or full brim style hat made from a fabric that offers UPF50+, so sadly the Trail Lite Cap doesn't meet these requirements.

    Our Dyno Stretch Cap is made from a heavier softshell material with a higher UPF rating which will perform better in sunny conditions (it also doesn't have ventilation holes), however it still only offers protection from the peak, leaving the side and back of the neck exposed.
