Fastpacking is rapid, long-distance mountain travel, on foot, over multiple days, sometimes involving camps or bivouacs. It requires refined clothing and equipment choices, and practised skill sets that allow for both swift movement and self-sufficiency in a remote mountain setting.
Fastpacking is as much a philosophy as it is a technical system. Peaks come and go to the rhythm of a pounding heartbeat. No time for Instagram. Distance, miles on the legs, and the sheer bloody-minded slog of it is its own reward. Rest is welcome and sleep comes quickly in a tiny tent or bivy under the stars. Repeat.
