About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an SEO and Digital Content Manager to join our team. At Montane we push boundaries in performance, building timeless and versatile product that enables people to achieve their goals in the outdoors. The SEO & Digital Content Manager will play a critical role in elevating our online presence and driving traffic through expert technical and onsite content. They will apply their skills and experience to implement an SEO and digital content strategy for Montane, working across teams and providing guidance on how to optimise content to support seasonal campaign delivery, online growth and traffic goals, increasing organic traffic search rankings, improving website visibility and driving qualified traffic.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead and implement SEO strategies and best practice to increase organic search ranking, improve website visibility, drive qualified traffic and attributed sales.
  • You will work with a range internal and external stakeholders to deliver seasonal optimized content to improve website ranking and visibility.
  • You’ll be able to develop SEO strategies to maximise SERP visibility and rank opportunity through transactional and non-transactional content optimisation.
  • Keyword research and optimization. Conduct thorough keyword research to identify valuable opportunities. Optimise website content, including meta tags, headers, and on-page elements, to improve keyword relevancy and organic search performance.
  • Regular content audits to identify opportunities aligned with search trends and ROI opportunities
  • Production of accurate and engaging SEO-optimized content which engages and elevates the brand.
  • Reporting on and analysing website performance data, identifying content sweet spots and traffic opportunities.
  • You will be responsible for the content delivery plan to support seasonal campaigns.
  • Align content production with commercial calendar and key category buying periods creating content with intent to support qualified traffic alongside wider D2C team.
  • Lead in partnership activation that supports content exchange, off site SEO and data capture as part of data growth and traffic driving initiatives.
  • Working with the Digital Director you will create a balanced environment for SEO and PPC and deliver a successful combined strategy.
  • Liaising with platform agency to ensure any technical SEO issues affecting websites are resolved promptly.
  • Keeping up to date with SEO trends and shopping trends that influence buying habits
  • Monitor our search terms, rankings, and report performance across browsers.
  • Ensure SEO is a the forefront of any website content production.
  • Provide search volume data to support PR opportunities.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  •  Ability to deliver to deadline with strong organisational skill and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders to create on brand content.
  • 3/5 years’ experience in SEO (on-page content, off-page SEO, and technical aspects), content writing and website editing.
  • Copy writing experience for an ecommerce business with demonstratable experience with user journey and path to purchase.
  • Strong ability to evaluate content quality from an editorial and SEO perspective to support cross site optimisation.
  • CMS experience in Shopify or a wysiwyg editor.
  • Experience in Moz, ahrefs or semrush tools, GA4, Google Analytics, Google Search Console.
  • Desirable experience in backlink building through affiliate networks and PR.
  • SEO enthusiast and up to date with the google algorithm update.
  • Able to effectively communicate SEO recommendations across cross functional teams.
  • An interest in the outdoors.
  • Excellent organisation and deadline management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
