About the role

At Montane we push boundaries in performance, building timeless and versatile product that enables people to achieve their goals in the outdoors. We are recruiting for a Social Media Manager to be part of an ambitious in house digital team who will develop and drive our social media strategy. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning, curating, and delivering on brand social content across our social channels, aligning content to the commercial calendar, events and races, working closely with brand marketing and ecommerce teams to support the brand marketing and D2C strategy and drive brand awareness and follower growth. There will be some travel required in this role to attend and capture social content at brand events both in the UK and internationally. 

Key Responsibilities

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for (Including and not limited to):

  • Leading the content creation delivery to social to support primary channels Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok.
  • Reel creation, graphic content creation to support campaign and event delivery.
  • Taking a reactive approach to trends in content creation to support brand visibility.
  • Briefing video content requirements aligned with campaign messaging and digital marketing calendar, taking into consideration content types and channel algorithm behaviour.
  • Building out ‘always on’ content that underpins brand values and authenticity. 
  • Delivering on brand messaging which considers user journey and brand guidelines/ tone of voice, demonstrating strong copywriting skills.
  • Aligning the social element of the digital calendar; capturing campaign, event and commercial activity to ensure social messaging is aligned with email and website content. 
  • Ensuring Montane social channels have a presence at Montane events and races by providing consistent event coverage which is authentic, inspiring and engaging.
  • Managing our ‘influencers’ and ‘athletes’ content creation for social channels that supports brand visibility and channel growth.
  • Producing regular reports, analysing success and learnings from strong and poor performing content.
  • Growing our social media audience, prioritising UK, DE and US.
  • Looking for opportunities to capture consumer data and grow follower numbers.
  • Keeping up to date with the ever changing approach to social platforms and algorithm, sharing social media trends and upcoming changes with the wider business.
  • Managing influencer and paid for budget, working closely with the Digital Director and wider agencies to ensure strong ROI whilst taking learnings from successes.
  • Developing the LinkedIn platform to support internal activities, trade and direct to consumer initiatives.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will have: 

  • 3-5 Years experience in a social media channel and/or community management role, agency based or in house.
  • Content creation experience specifically Reels and Graphics. 
  • Desirable but not essential, experience as a social influencer with an active following that understands how the algorithm and content works side by side. 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience covering events and or planning event content briefs.
  • Experience working with influencers to generate content.
  • Experience of working with social and content creation agencies.
  • This role requires an exceptional level of attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Able to demonstrate effective and timely multi-level communication.
  • Ability to travel to attend and capture social content at brand events both in the UK and internationally.

Location: Northumberland.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
Contract: Full Time. Will consider both Permanent and Fixed Term Contracts.
